Job Title:  Trade Marketing Manager                      


Line Management: Senior Trade Marketing Manager



Purpose of Role


To drive the translation of IBHL vision and objectives into commercially profitable channel/customer marketing and activation plans, stretching across the off trade and on trade channels.


To support the UK sales focused operation across all marketing requirements. Taking the global brand platforms available and tailoring them to market needs before executing them to drive volume & value.


Main Responsibilities


  • Lead the development of annual Activation Calendar, providing initiatives which are prioritised against resource & spend and collectively meet brand, commercial and our customers objectives
  • To create, develop and manage all trade marketing programs, integral to the effectiveness of the core brands in the market & respective channels
  • Liaise with the wider Trade marketing team to ensure that brand activity is running in parallel as well as take advantage of marketing and POS initiatives being used in core markets
  • Report on the category, key channels and our brands’ market performance
  • Liaise with the UK Sales team to develop Key Account Plans for priority accounts linked to the annual activation calendar and agreed budgets.
  • Conduct Presentations during Customer Brand meetings and performance reviews.  
  • Ensure the wider business has a clear view of best practice through evaluation of in market initiatives and activations and sharing best practice
  • Effectively evaluate our activity on a channel and commercial basis seeking commercial input from sales as required.
  • Appraise and evaluate market trends relevant to our brands
  • To control, manage and report on annual Trade Marketing investments
  • Highly effective and efficient management of budget.
  • Manage and own their own professional development in order to achieve work objectives and        career and personal goals.
  • Liaise with UK Sales team to support commercial growth through Activation Calendar.
  • Work with & align with UK Sales team, and provide the trade marketing support required to successfully deliver agreed initiatives/activations with our key accounts
  • Work with Sales to drive the development and delivery of the key account plans and long term plan
  • Create Channel strategies and execute associated plans
  • Provide the sales teams with the tools they require to actively lead our customers and deliver sales & brand objectives.
  • Management of POS identified for use by UK sales team and contribute to suggestions for same.



  • Ensure that our consumer proposition is carried at the heart of all activity we deliver in channel and that our channel activity delivers effective commercial returns
  • Liaise with Marketing team to ensure channel specific materials are compatible with Brand platforms
  • Work closely with Brand Team to ensure delivery of effective initiatives
  • Liaise with the wider Brand team to ensure that all trade marketing activation is in line with specific brand guidelines, tone of voice and overall UK objectives.
  • Act as “Brand Guardian” for IBHL portfolio, ensuring that all activity delivered across channels and customers fits with brand objectives and guidelines


Scope of Role


  • To be the local point of contact for UK sales team when marketing programs and collateral materials are required
  • To deliver activations as agreed with Senior Trade Marketing Manager.
  • To help identify cross-brand efficiencies and synergies where they exist.
  • Must work extremely well with the UK sales team and wider marketing team to understand and support their needs.
  • Excellent communication is critical with all stakeholders.

Working Conditions


  • This role will be both office and field based.
  • Travel within home country will be required.
  • You may be required to work additional hours as necessitated by the needs of the business. This will include weekend working. 


Personal Profile


  • 3+ years experience in a Trade Marketing, Marketing or Sales role – preferably within FMCG/drinks industry.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills.
  • Good influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial understanding.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level.
